After disassembly, each unit is cleaned with solvent and then cleaned again with a aqueous hot water and detergent bath. This two step cleaning process is an excellent procedure that gets great results removing all of the grease and the
solvents, leaving just a perfectly clean component.
After the hot water process, each component is ready to be renewed using either glass beads for smaller components or a steel shot machine to renew the surface of housings. Our glass blead cabinet removes all impurities on small or delicate components without removing any metal or plastic from the component. The steel shot blaster is more agressive and used to make cast iron or aluminum frames and housings look brand new.
Starter or generator field coils and alternator stator windings are removed before the cleaning process. There are many times, we will find the field coils need insulation repair after removal of the coil. If required starter or generator field coils are either replaced or wrapped with new insulating material. Hidden potential shorts are taken care of before the problem starts. Another step in customer satisfaction.
All exterior cases and frames are painted or sealed with a corrosion preventative.
